Makers Club
On Tuesday, November 15, Mrs. Orduno’s Kindergarten class from Killian Elementary came to Rowland High school for a Maker event in the library. Students were paired with Ms. Caringal’s physics class to create catapults to launch at turkey targets. Ms. Caringal had done a previous unit on catapults with the class, so it was neat to see them impart their knowledge to a younger generation of upcoming future Raiders. It is also National Recycle Month, so seeing students create turkeys from recycled materials such as toilet paper and paper rolls was fun. Our Maker Club on campus sponsored this event, as one of their goals is to do outreach with youth in our community.
