Professional Learning
We will also revisit Lucy Calkins during PLC this week! Bring your kits and evidence of students work to examine progress.
Canvas PLC Pages
Your PLC pages are set up in Canvas and you should have received a notification to join the course. Please, check your emails!
From week to week, I will add some kind of focus to PLC. This might just be in the form of a question you all respond to in Canvas. Thank you all for everything you do! You are truly amazing!
Quality Planning
Unpacking the TEKS is an important part of planning for the "First" teach. During your planning sessions and/or PLC unpack the most important TEKS of the six week grading period. This helps us to ensure we have raised the rigor with powerful learning strategies in regards to student centered work.
Please be sure to include Fundamental Five strategies within your lesson plans as well as Writing Across Curriculum Type writing questions.
Nurse Clinic Closed for Lunch! 11:00-11:30
ARDS
As we get into our year full swing with ARDS, we need to be prepared! Please remember to bring the following:
student cumulative folder
current grades
samples of student work
current and most recent STAAR and other assessment scores
log- in to resources parents can use at home with student to support learning
other resources for parents to work with students
Please, remember to keep your phone either in your pocket or bag during ARD or 504 meetings. (Or place on floor beside you) You need to also be prepared to take notes! Lots of valuable information about the student can be gained from these meetings.
Thanks!
