NISD Portal Login Information for Parents
Your child has the opportunity to access a variety of online learning tools provided to them by the district. These resources include the online reading program Lexia, and the online math program Imagine Math, as well as Google for Education tools. While your child will be using these in class, they will also have access to the resources at home.
All of these student resources are housed through the NISD Portal to enable students to easily navigate to desired programs. To access the portal at home, please follow these instructions:
From the internet, go to portal.nisdtx.org. It will bring up a page with the same information as shown below. Students may input their district provided username and password. Please see the picture below for guidance.

Students at Granger have recently completed Digital Citizenship Module 1. In this lesson, they learned about their digital footprint and being self-aware of their online presence. We encourage families to continue these conversations at home with your children. Below is a link to the Common Sense Media family tips link on Digital Footprints. Additionally, there is an embedded related family activity to reinforce the significance of our online presence and the importance of creating a positive digital footprint.
Students may access district programs through the NISD portal and campus programs through the grade level symbaloos found on the library website. There is also a link to the portal on each symbaloo; simply click on the smiley face at the end of the first row.
Seesaw for Grades K-2
Students in grade K-2 use Seesaw as a means to add depth to their learning by documenting and explaining their thinking. We also invite families to be a part of the learning and join the conversations by accessing Seesaw at home. Here is more information on how to access Seesaw from home.
Students in second through fifth grade may access Imagine Math. This program can be found through the NISD portal. Please see the document below for additional information.

Lexia Information for Parents
Options for Logging in to Lexia at Home
NISD Portal via Chromebook or Computer Device
The ideal way to access Lexia is through the NISD portal on a computer or Chromebook.
Open Google Chrome (or other internet browser).
Navigate to portal.nisdtx.org or the grade level Symbaloo and click on NISD Portal.
Students can login with their username and password or login using their NISD Portal QR code (KG-1 only).
Once logged into the portal, click on “Core5 Lexia.”
Click “Log in with NISD Portal”
Wait until the login process is complete and you will now be logged into Lexia.
It is important that your child works without any help while using Lexia. All of the work your child does at home is recorded and reported to school. This way, teachers can see when help is needed and provide additional instruction at school.
While we live in world abundant in technology and digital resources, it is important to maintain media balance. When not actively participating in an online lesson/activity, we ask students to place their chromebook devices in courtesy mode. Here are some family tips to help your children balance their media lives.
Social Emotional Learning
At NISD, digital citizenship lessons are connected to social emotional learning. Our SEL topic for this month is self-awareness. We want our students to be cognizant of how they are perceived online and be aware of what they should and should not post. The family activity above provides a great opportunity to discuss with your child what it means to be self-aware of their digital footprint. What are ways your child can ensure they maintain a positive digital footprint now and in the future?
