Edmond Doyle News 1-19-2017
January is flying by so quickly! Be sure and show your children how beautiful the trees are without their leaves. Even when the earth is bare and sometimes gloomy-its beauty still shines through. Point out how the trees look like the insides of a lung without leaves. That is so cool since trees really are the lungs of the earth!!
Please make sure your students are reading and practicing their math facts at home. Also, check to be certain that your child is getting all of their homework done and turned in on time. Working together, we are producing some excellent learners! We are very proud of our students. Your input is CRUCIAL!!! We can't do what we do here without your help and support.
We have almost finished our middle of the year Star benchmark. Most of our students have shown improvement. Some still need extra help. The best way for anyone to become a better reader is to read!! Parent/teacher conferences will be February 2nd from 3:15-6:30 and on February 3rd from 8:00-12:00. We love to have 100% participation with our conferences. If these times don't work for you-contact your child's teacher and they can make other arrangements. We will do whatever we can to meet with you!
Our Book Fair will be January 30th to February 3rd. The Book Fair is always exciting for us. It's a special way for us to get new library books and fun for kids to get books for home. Our Family Night will be Tuesday, January 31st. We will send more details soon. Make plans to join us!
