All Things SLI
Silver Lake Intermediate March 12, 2021
SLI Families:
What an awesome job our talented students have done with the "On Broadway" production last weekend. From set design, to stage crew, to our performers, it was a collaborative and such a successful effort! Please see the information in this newsletter to order a DVD or playbook.
Reminder there is no school this Monday, March 15 for staff professional development and no school on Friday, March 19, as our staff will be participating in an onsite vaccination clinic. We appreciate all families' flexibility with this extra non school day. We know we have asked a lot from our families in terms of flexibility this school year, so thank you so much for understanding.
Our school has partnered with Stone Creek, in our community, to provide coffee as a fundraiser. You may remember we had a contest with our students to design the label. Well, it is time to start ordering that coffee. We appreciate your support of our school.
Lastly, there will be a new self-defense club with limited participants starting after spring break. Please see the flyer in this newsletter.
We are almost to spring break! For the students, only eight more days. Let the sun and warm weather continue!

What does my child do if they are in quarantine or isolation?
Even though we are back full face to face five days a week, students in quarantine are expected to Zoom into the class here at school.
If your child is ill and is unable to participate in the virtual schedule (i.e. attend Zoom meeting with the in person class), please email your child's teachers so they are aware and can work with individual families/students.
What if my child has technical issues at home?
Students and families who need technical support can submit a ticket using the form on their student bookmarks, or available here. In addition, support from our Technology Help Desk is available during the school day by calling 262-560-2126 or emailing helpdesk@oasd.org. For those who do not have reliable internet access at home, please contact our help desk to request a hotspot. The OASD Technology Website has additional information on remote learning and technology resources.
The Character Strong curriculum is built around the “Eight Essential” character traits and social emotional skills that have been proven to help us be productive, empathetic, successful people. We will be working together to build a kinder school culture and, ultimately, a kinder world. We are so excited to dive into this resource with our students and staff, and with families as well!
