Trimester 3

Trimester 3 will begin on Tuesday March 3. Report cards for trimester 2 will be finalized and hung in PowerSchool

Chromebook Chargers

We have several students and teachers who are missing their chargers - they may have gone home with the wrong person.

It would be a great help if families would check in with their students to ensure that they have both a Chromebook and charger with their name on it. There should also be a blue tag on the bottom with a 6 digit number to identify it.

If a charger or Chromebook has been lost, students can come to the library to get a replacement. Please contact Ms. Sims with any questions.

Student Supplies!!

It is that time of the year when many of our students have exhausted their start of the year supply of pencils, paper, etc. Could you please check with your student to make sure they have what is needed for class! We are running out of extra pencils especially so if you could check to make sure your student has enough writing utensils to finish the year strong that would be greatly appreciated!

Kleenex and Hand Sanitizer

We have exhausted our supply of kleenex and hand sanitizer and would greatly appreciate any donations! Feel free to drop off in the main office. Thank you for all of your continued support!

Live Arts 2020!

On Wednesday, March 11, eighth grade students will have the opportunity to see a performance of Alvin Ailey’s Revelations. Revelations is a masterpiece of modern dance that uses African-American spirituals, song-sermons, gospel songs, and holy blues to explore aspects of the African American experience through dance.

Before the performance, the dance company will demonstrate some of the technical aspects of the show, perform a few excerpts from the company’s repertoire, and provide students to learn some dance moves themselves.

This trip presents a great opportunity to explore and discuss African American history and culture, particularly as it relates to the arts. I’ve attached an overview of the trip, which includes a list of resources on the second page. Some of the resources discuss the history of African American dance and music. These resources are available in Google Drive and on AGC's YouTube channel.

Securly Information

All ICCSD-issued Chromebooks are filtered whether the device is on the school’s network or not. For off-campus devices, we filter using the Securly service, which allows the district to block content that is explicit or dangerous, as determined by the district’s technology council, IT department, and as defined in federal law. Parents can add further restrictions for when computers are off campus. Parents are automatically enrolled in this Securly service using the primary email address listed in PowerSchool. If you are not receiving the email and your primary address is correct in PowerSchool, please call 319-688-1000 and dial the extension HELP (4357).
