Procedures for obtaining a Bus Pass
- Requesting for a bus pass can only be done by sending in a note or via email. NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED!
- The following information must be included in the note from the parent/guardian of the student requesting to ride a different bus and being dropped off at a different location:
- The date(s) you are requesting to ride a different bus
- Your Child’s Name
- Your Child’s original bus #
- The name of the student your child will be riding home with
- The bus # of the student your child will be riding home with
- The location of the drop off that the students will be dropped off at
- A note or letter IS REQUIRED from parent/guardian who is receiving the child just acknowledging you are aware of the bus change and giving permission for this student to come home with your child.
- All notes/emails must be received no later than 12pm on the day the request is being made. (If it is a 2-hr early dismissal day, the notes/emails must be received no later than 10am on the day the request is being made.)

- DI until 3:15 pm
- Girls & Boys Basketball Practice until 3:15 pm
(Wednesday) - March 1st
- FEV Tutoring
- Girls' Basketball Practice until 3:15 pm
- GSA until 3:15 pm
- Drama Club until 3:30 pm in the cafe'
- Music & Art in our School Celebration @ 6:30 pm
(Thursday) - March 2nd
- FEV Tutoring
- ESOL Nest until 3 pm
- Sea Perch until 3:30 pm
- RISE club until 3 pm
- DI until 3:15 pm
- Boys' Basketball Practice until 3:15 pm
(Friday) - March 3rd
- Southern Sprinters Elite Track-N-Field in cafe' from 8-9 pm
(Monday) - March 6th
- Pizza Hotline Spirit Night from 2-9 pm

- Orchestra Assessment

(Wednesday) - March 8th
- FEV Tutoring
- Girls Basketball Practice until 3:15 pm
- Drama club until 3:30 pm in cafe'
- NJHS until 3:30 pm
(Thursday) - March 9th - 2 hr ED Students are dismissed at 12 noon. If you need to pick your child up early, please arrive by 11:30 am. No students will be called after this time to ensure early dismissal isn't impacted.
- CCPS County-wide Spelling Bee taking place at Somers
(Friday) - March 10th
- Educators Rising @ Mitchell from 10-12 pm
- Comic Can in the Library until 4:15 pm
- Southern Sprinters Elite in the gym from 8-9 pm
(Saturday) - March 11th

Updated Proofs Required for 8th Graders
Attention parents of 8th grade students:
CCPS requires students entering 9th grade to provide two (2) current proof of domicile to update their child's record. Your child's schedule will not be finalized for the 2023-2024 school year until your proofs are received. Please see the attached letter regarding this process. Proofs may be uploaded through ParentVue, brought into the counseling office during school hours, or emailed to our guidance secretary, Mrs. Matos, at rmatos@ccboe.com. Proofs must be received no later than April 11, 2023. If you have any questions, you may contact Mrs. Matos or our PPW, Mrs. Jenkins at pkjenkins@ccboe.com.

Library News: All of our 6th and 8th graders participated in the Sending Smiles program. Students made postcards that will be sent to lift the spirits of children in hospitals. Sending Smiles is a local Mechanicsville organization begun by 2 high school students. Our students made some great postcards!
Save the Date: Our spring Scholastic book fair will be held March 20-24.
Just Added: How to become an Accidental Genius tells the stories of successful inventors who changed the world with their persistence, curiosity, and luck. Play Like a Girl tells the story of Misty who joined the fooltball team in 7th grade.
