HSAP Test Prep: English/LA

2013-2014 Course Expectations

Course Description

The HSAP course is an elective course designed to prepare students to take the South Carolina High School Assessment Program test. The HSAP exam is a test that is required for graduation in the state of South Carolina.

Meet Your Instructor

I am Mrs. Jackson, and this is my first year with Provost Academy.  I am excited about this new opportunity to help students in the virtual classroom.  I will be teaching English Common Core Grades 9 and 10 and HSAP Prep for English/Language Arts. I live in Greenville, SC where I taught at Hillcrest HIgh for 10 years.  I taught English and led the theatre program while there.  I have two small girls, and in my spare time I enjoy cooking, reading, working out,  and consuming Starbucks and chocolate.

Important Information to Note

If you have a question, feel free to call/text. If I do not answer, leave a message and I’ll call you back by the end of the following day. If you email me during my work hours, more than likely you will hear from me that day. If you email when I’m not “working," you will most likely not get a response until the next day.

*Your writing assignments will usually be graded within 72 hours (not including weekends) of being submitted. Research papers may take one week. Please click here to view the school calendar!

Please note: When there is a holiday, you probably won't be able to reach me, and I may not be grading anything that day. Make sure you take a look at the calendar to know those dates.

Check your email daily!

I will be emailing you many, many times about several things:

  • Deadlines
  • Forum Posts
  • Important Information
  • Lesson Recordings/Seminar Information

These seminars will be very important for you to attend and will be counted as Extra Credit! The seminar will take place in my classroom.
