Principal Post

DuJardin School has a program called Adults Involved in Mentoring Students (AIMS). Adult mentors meet with students once a week during lunch and recess to eat together while doing a variety of other activities such as play a game, create a craft, or go out on the playground and shoot hoops. These mentors are trained, go through a thorough background check and complete an interview process. This program is another way to offer our students additional support and positive adult attention throughout the day. If you or anyone you know might be interested in volunteering for this worthwhile program please fee free to contact Mr. Dwyer for more information. Parents, if you feel your child might benefit from this program and would like your child to be involved with the mentoring program please contact Mr. Dwyer at 630-894-9200 or

Students will not be attendance on Friday, October 5th for Teacher's Institute Day or on Monday, October 8th as we observe Christopher Columbus Day.

DuJardin School

Located at 166 S. Euclid Ave. in Bloomingdale, DuJardin Elementary School, is attended by 409 students in grades K-5. The district's oldest school, DuJardin opened its doors in 1964. The building is named in honor of Rosamond Neal DuJardin, an accomplished local children's author who published more than 100 works of writing. Mrs. DuJardin and her family were the previous owners of the land on which DuJardin School stands today. DuJardin's staff includes Mr. Mark Dwyer, principal, Mrs. Angel Frattinger, assistant principal, and approximately 68 teachers, paraprofessionals, and office staff.

Each week the teachers recognize students from their classrooms for demonstrating outstanding character based on the attitudes or actions that fall under the Character Counts Pillars: Congratulations to the following students for being nominated this week!

Arts and Crafts Club

Miss Kenny and Mrs. Dyer will be running an arts and crafts club for first and second grade students. The forms are due Friday, September 28, 2018, and the spots are filled on a first come, first serve basis. After sending home the permission slip on Tuesday September 18, the following day there were over 60 permission slips returned between first and second grade. We kept them in the order that they were received. To accommodate the high interest in this club, Miss Kenny and Mrs. Dyer are splitting the two grade levels and will be running the 2nd grade arts and crafts club for the first 20 second grade students who have already turned in their permission slips.

A second arts and crafts club is being added for the first 20 first graders that have already turned in their permission slips. The dates will come home with a letter for both the second grade and first grade students that had their permission slips turned in first. If your student does not come home with a letter by October 2, 2018 then they are not in the club this time around. Thank you for your understanding with this, and if you should have any questions please feel free to reach out to Miss Kenny or Mrs. Dyer.
