FREE Tutoring for K-12 Students
All of California Now has Access to HelpNow
The California State Library provides free online tutoring for California K-12 students, available through public libraries. Through HelpNow, live real-time homework assistance is available 24 hours a day by laptop, tablet, or phone from qualified tutors using state curriculum and standards.
24/7 assistance is available in English and Spanish for Language Arts and Mathematics.
Every day between 10:00 am and 10:00 pm, assistance is available in core K-12 subjects in the following languages:
- English
- Spanish
- Mandarin
- Cantonese
- Vietnamese
- Tagalog
Tutors can provide a virtual whiteboard, conduct live audio interactions with students, and work with learners on a wide range of concepts. Students are expected to work through the content and learn from the feedback. Tutors do not provide answers — they provide guidance and help. Tutoring sessions may be monitored for completeness and pedagogical effectiveness. All tutors have passed background checks and possess, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree.
Anyone using a computer inside of California can benefit from the live “HelpNow” program. Simply click on this link to get started with a live tutoring session now. The average wait time is 23 seconds.

Paloma Panthers are THRIVERS!
This month we will be learning about Self Confidence!
"Children with self-confidence understand their strengths, accept their weaknesses and can apply that self- knowledge to help them succeed." When children understand these keys concepts, they have a strong foundation for life. Self-confidence grows as they deepen their understanding of who they are, try new things and learn through their failures.
More benefits of developing self- confidence:
~Self-confidence leads to better academic performance. Kids with self confidence are happier and more engaged in school.
~Self- confidence leads to more resilience. Kids who have self-confidence will be better at navigating through life and will bounce back more quickly after setbacks.
~Self-confidence leads to a greater sense of well-being. They will better better communicators, be creative, have stronger relationships and overall better mental health.
~Self-confidence leads to more happiness. Kids who are self-confident will reap the rewards of all of these aforementioned benefits and will lead an overall happier life than those who are not self-confident.
Join us next week when we will learn why self- confidence can be so hard to teach
from Michele Borba's book, Thrivers.
Safety at Arrival and Dismissal
Let's keep all Panthers safe at school!
When using the loop to pick up or drop off your child by car, PLEASE.....
- Only park in appropriate areas. The pick up loop can be a very busy place, especially on modified days. However, it is important to remember to only park in designated parking spaces. Please do not park along curbs that are painted red or in handicap spots unless you have a handicap placard. If there is not parking available when you arrive, you will need to park on the street and walk to meet your child or join the pick up loop. If you are parked in these areas, you will be asked to move.
- Always use the crosswalks.
- Do not use the parking lot as an additional pick-up line. This blocks access to parking spaces, including handicap spots. If there is not an open parking spot, please pull through and go around again to look for an opening or join the loop pick up line.
- Stay in your car when using the loop. If your child needs assistance entering or exiting the car, please park in the lot and walk them to their gate.
- Move all the way forward as directed by the school staff.
- In the morning, do not wait until your child reaches the gate to pull away. Staying in the loop and watching your child walk in through the gate, slows the flow of traffic. If you would like to watch your child enter the gate, please park your car and walk your child.
- At dismissal, do not stop in the loop and wait for your child to come your direction, instead pull up when there is space to pull forward. Pull all the way forward and continue to move forward with the traffic. Your child will walk down towards you.
We appreciate your continued cooperation and patience.
