Third Quarter GATE Updates
Hello GATE Teachers,
The GATE Programs Office is excited to offer numerous courses during the Spring semester. Some of our returning classes include: Gifted 101, Differentiation for Gifted Learners, and How to Use Depth & Complexity Prompts with your GATE/Honors Students. A new GATE course offering will be Building Thinking Classrooms for GATE Teachers on February 29th and Vanessa Hill will return for Let's Solve Problems Creatively 2.0. Please be sure to sign up in the True North Logic Learning Portal or email GATEProgram@tusd1.org and we can assist you. This is a great opportunity to receive gifted hours towards your provisional or permanent gifted endorsement!
We hope you have a restful Winter Break,
The GATE Programs Team

How Might You Use Critical Thinking Questions in the GATE Classroom?
GATE Literacy Kits
GATE Programs has literacy kits available for check-out. In addition to using them for read-alouds and independent reading, the literacy kits are a great source of information for project-based learning. Each literacy kit comes with a teacher binder with projects and activity ideas.
**Please check ahead for literacy kit availability. Not all kits are available every quarter.
**Please contact Alzira Duncan in the GATE office to schedule a pick-up.
**Please allow 48 hours to confirm availability and pick-up.
The GATE office also has many games and resource books available for check-out, including Interact Simulations. If you want to check out any items, please contact the GATE office at gateprogram@tusd1.org.
Gifted Endorsement Information
If you have the gifted hours needed to receive your gifted endorsement, please scan and email your TUSD transcript found in the TrueNorth Logic Learning Portal and any out-of-district certificates to GATEProgram@tusd1.org, and we will issue your contact hours letter to HR which will enable you to apply for your gifted endorsement with ADE.
