The Greatest Good Is What We Do For One Another

The Cougar Closet, a vision that began with Mrs. Sirois and came to life with the help of her Cougar U, is ready to open. Cougar Closet's goal is to offer high-quality goods so that all of our Central Noble Junior-Senior High School students will have their clothing and hygiene needs met. The venture will operate on free will donations. Their vision is to become a self-sustaining, student-led, and student-run organization by the end of 2019. Mrs. Sirois’s Cougar U students will run the business with the students in the applied skills classroom as well as other student, staff, and parent volunteers.

They received an Ott Grant that was used to purchase racks, displays, hangers, mirrors, and other items to set up the store. They were able to negotiate with the Carson's liquidation team in order to purchase 6 clothing racks, several merchandise displays, and several signs for the store. Gift of Gloves also donated sling bags filled with hats, mittens, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other hygiene supplies.

Money generated from free will donations will be filtered into two areas with 50% going towards store maintenance, updates, and promotions and the other half will be used to focus on student needs. The store will be run by volunteers, staff, and CN Applied Skills students. The Applied Skills students (along with paraprofessionals) will be operating the Cougar Closet during both junior high and senior high lunches on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. On Wednesdays, Mrs. Phillips has given up her lunch to man the shop during A Lunch, and Michelle will be covering during B Lunch. For now, Michelle will also staff the shop before school but is looking for volunteers to help out before school (7:55 - 8:25), during lunch (11:15-12:45), or to sort clothes and merchandise the store during the school day. Please share this information with anyone who might be able to assist.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your vision and hard work in bringing this to our students at CN!
