HOA Happenings - BONUS EDITION
March 1, 2021
for K-12 families at Hillsboro Online Academy
Meal Distribution Changes
Meal distribution changes begin Monday, Mar. 1, and will remain in place through Friday, Mar. 19. All walk zone meal deliveries will be made by vans or other designated vehicles, not school buses. School buses will continue to deliver meals outside of walk zones. Many pick-up times will be different, so families are encouraged to review the walk zone and bus delivery stop lists for the schedule. See hsd.k12.or.us/nutrition for more information. On Mar. 29, meal delivery will cease. Students attending hybrid can pick up meals when they are on campus and students participating in CDL only can request weekly meals.
TRANSFERS
Students who are currently enrolled in Hillsboro Online Academy (HOA) will remain in HOA.
OPTION 1: Remain in CDL only
OPTION 2: Participate in a HYBRID model where part of their schooling is in-person and part is online
Once families have made a decision, that is the model in which students will remain through the end of the school year (June 2021).
Planning for 2021-2022
All students attending Hillsboro Online Academy are on an In-District Transfer from their neighborhood school. In-District Transfers are only good for the current school year and expire in June.
If you plan on returning to HOA for the upcoming school year, please submit your In-District Transfer Application as soon as possible. The Priority window for the upcoming school year is January 1-31 and letters will will be mailed home by Febrary 28th. Requests received after the Priority Window will be held for review in mid- to late-May.
If a transfer is not received, students will be expected to return to their neighborhood school. The school would need to be contacted concerning registration and forecasting for classes.
Students living in another District and currently attending HOA on an Inter-District Transfer do not need to reapply.
