Ally Training on May 28
VRUMC, in conjunction with Denton County Friends of the Family (DCFOF), is offering Ally Training from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28. This free workshop is for those wishing to learn more about and support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual/agender (LGBTQIA+) individuals and their families within our church family and community. The goal is to gain knowledge, personal and community awareness, and to increase the number of physical and emotionally safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ individuals. The training is being led by church member Hillarye Hightower, DCFOF director of prevention, education and awareness.
Consider taking part in our churchwide Blood Drive on Sunday, June 2. The Carter BloodCare Bus will be on site from 8:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. Donors will receive a Texas Rangers T-shirt and a BOGO ticket voucher for a Texas Rangers game. Sign up for an appointment below or in the Connection Center on Sunday morning to select your appointment time.
Volunteer Need to Run Worship Slides
The Media Team is in need of volunteers to run the slides for our worship services on a rotational basis. In addition, another team member is needed to place song lyrics and liturgy on slides for Sunday worship. Training and templates will be provided. Contact Noah Curran, noah@vrumc.org, with your interest.
