Crow Island Parent Newsletter
November 29, 2021
Dear Crow Island Families,
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break and enjoyed time with your families and friends. Before we went into break out, the school community celebrated Thanksgiving with two morning assemblies where staff put on skits and the school community came together to sing some of our favorite songs. We also hosted a Kindergarten Concert with our families and it was nice to see us come together to celebrate our youngest Crow Island students.
I am looking forward to seeing many of you at school for our PTO Book Fair this week. I want to thank our PTO for their dedication and time to ensure we can pull off an in-person book fair this year.
Stay well,
Luke

PTO Book Fair:
Crow Island’s Book Fair is just over two weeks away! And we are thrilled to offer this event in person again this year!
The dates and times for our Book Fair are as listed below:
Wednesday, December 1st, 2021: 2:00 - 7:00 P.M.
Thursday, December 2nd, 2021: 8:00 - 10:00 A.M.
Due to Covid-19 protocols, this year's book fair attendees will be required to sign up for specific 30-minute shopping timeslots via Sign-Up Genius. To reserve your slot, please sign up HERE. (You could mention that reservations are required as opposed to listing this out. You can determine whether or not to include the link.)
Gift-wrapping is back this year, too, courtesy of our 4th Grade Peace Power students! They will be at the book fair from 3:30 PM-7:00 PM on December 1st to assist with your holiday wrapping needs. (Optional to include.)
A few other reminders:
Visitors will need to wear masks
Children are welcomed/invited
Avoid parking in the circle drive during drop off or pick-up times.
Save the Date - Winter Sing-Along:
This year we are doing the Winter Sing-along in an outdoor caroling format. The students will come together based on last name (so siblings are together with parents). Below are some details:
Date: December 16, 2021
Location: 1st Grade Blacktop
Times by Last Name:
9:00am - Last name A-G
10:30am - Last name H-O
1:00pm - Last name P-Z
During the sing-long, parents will sit with their children, enjoy some hot chocolate, and sing winter songs together. Each grade will take a turn to lead a few songs. More details will be coming as we get closer to the date. If for some reason we have extreme rain or sub zero temperatures we will move our assembly indoors and will limit it to just being a staff/student celebration.
Pokemon Club with Mrs. Swartz
This club will not take place on December 10th. Mrs. Swartz will also tell the students.
