Kids in the Kitchen


Do you have a child who loves to cook and wants to learn more? Kids in the Kitchen is a series of four classes that will get your child more comfortable & more knowledgeable in the kitchen. This would make a wonderful birthday or holiday present for your little chef. See the breakdown below of what will be taught over the course of this series of classes.

Date: January 8th, 10th, 15th & 17th

Time: 5:00 pm-7:00 pm

Cost: $115 Resident/ $120 Non-Resident (per person)

Age Requirement: 9-13

Registration Deadline: January 1

Location: The Grange (3692 Meadows Blvd., Castle Rock, CO)

January 8- Basic Kitchen Skills- Class one will work towards getting everyone comfortable in the kitchen. We will go over the rules for safety in the kitchen, food safety, setting up the work space, and finally knife skills. Each child will leave knowing how to safely handle their knife, along with learning some of the basic cuts.

January 10- Cooking Chicken- We will focus on cooking chicken to the correct temperature. The students will learn how to season, prep and roast a whole chicken. They will also learn how to make mashed potatoes.

January 15 - Make Your Own Pasta- Class three is all about making pasta from scratch. Each student will make their own batch of pasta dough, focusing on making a filled ravioli. They will learn how to make a delicious ricotta filling followed by learning how to roll out, fill and cut the pasta.

January 17- Baking Skills-Together as a class, the students will pick our area of focus, selecting cookies, cake, brownies, tarts or cupcakes. They will learn how to read a recipe, cream wet ingredients and sift dry ingredients.

Pre-registration is required, and parents will need to fill out a waiver form before dropping their kids off for the first class.
