Change a Life
Support Camp Kesem
What is Kesem?
a child's friend through and beyond a parent's cancer
Kesem is a nationwide community, driven by college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer. They are the only national organization dedicated to this unique population – supporting children with innovative, fun-filled programs that foster a lasting community.
Kesem provides training, support and leadership development to more than 3,000 passionate college student leaders from coast-to-coast who volunteer year-round to create, manage and run Camp Kesem’s life-changing programs in their communities.
How to Support Camp Kesem
Recently, Aquin alumnus, class of 2016, Cindy Palmer, stopped in the Aquin offices and introduced us to Camp Kesem. She is currently one of the two 'Alumni, Marketing and Public Relations Coordinators' for Northern Illinois University's chapter of Camp Kesem.
How can you help?
Last year, NIU sent 12 kiddos to camp. This year, their goal is 30 kiddos! As a counselor, Cindy's fundraising goal is $500, because for every $500 = 1 more kiddo that they can send to camp to have an unforgettable experience!
Camp Kesem is so much more than just another summer camp. It provides a unique and fun experience to children to show them that they are never alone. They get a full week to just have fun and be a kid.
Remember, every single donation counts, and your support is appreciated. If you can't make a donation at this point, that's okay! You can still help Cindy reach her goal by sharing her page on Facebook and Twitter! Or, even better, send an e-mail to friends you think might be interested in contributing and include a link to her page!
If you have any questions, would like to know more about Camp Kesem, or know of any kiddos that could benefit from our camp, please feel free to reach out to Cindy!
