iReady Support for EOG Preparation:
At this point in the year, you may want to strategically use Teacher Assigned Lessons in i-Ready to reinforce specific grade-level and power standard skills that will be assessed on the EOG. In the attached How To on page 8, there are directions for how to assign Teacher-Assigned Lessons to students.
A student's automatic lesson path is designed to fill in gaps, which is key in understanding grade level content. If you wish to use Teacher Assigned Lessons, it is important to do so sparingly and to make sure that students are still receiving sufficient time in their i-Ready Assigned lesson path. We recommend a total of 30-49 minutes per subject per week (Teacher Assigned Lessons + Assigned Lesson Path combined for a total of 30-49 minutes).
Teachers, please monitor the Online Instruction report at least once a week (cheat sheet attached) and take action when there are student lesson alerts. Conferencing with students for just 1-2 minutes on a skill can make a world of difference. Domains that are shut off should not be turned back on until a teacher or staff member works with the student.
