Celebrating Your Success - Trainee of the Week Joel Birks
Joel has been nominated by his link tutor, please see comments below....
What a easy Link Tutor visit! Joel has made a fantastic start at his stage 2 school. His mentor is really impressed with his strength of planning and organisational skills. Joel's evidence is well organised and completed to a high standard. The lesson I observed was engaging and thought provoking. It was a pleasure to visit Joel.
Frequently asked questions.
How much evidence do you need when discussing strategies for support individuals in your Level 7 assignment?
For each lesson evaluation/observation you have made you only need to address 3 simple questions:
· How was the strategy implemented in the lesson?
· Was the strategy effective with the pupil?
· How do I know? (ie what is the evidence?)
To assist you answering the last question you need to have produced a clear success criteria for each strategy so you discuss what it is you’re looking for as evidence that a strategy may be effective for a pupils with your chosen learning need.
Do Leeds and Bradford have the same half term dates?
Yes they do. Everyone's half term will begin on Friday February 15th.
Don't forget to..................
- to check if there is anything special going on in your school for advent
- find out if there is a school Christmas lunch, you can get involved with
- keep in contact with your Lead Tutors, even if it is only to say hello
Focus on questioning, reflecting on what we did in stage 1.
Provide opportunities for pupils to think about their work:
Before they start a task
How will you approach this?
What have you done which is similar that might help you?
During the task
How do you know if you are on the right track?
How do you need to adapt your approach to the task?
After the task
What could you do differently next time?
What have you learned from the activity?
Helping pupils to set their own targets, again this is from stage 1.
Top Tip from the well being day.
- Make sure that you take one thing away from the day that will help you.
Finally....
I really hope you enjoyed the day at Titus, have a great weekend and find some time for yourself. Remember a happy teacher is an effective teacher.
