An Update from Principal Cooper
Helen Lehman Families,
I want to thank all of you who are working hard to get onto the technology and make sure your students are connected so they can be fully supported. Technology is going to be one of the many teaching tools that we must use during this time of Distance Learning. Here at school, we teach our students to persevere through challenging tasks, and my hope is that together, we can persevere through any technology challenges that pop up this year. We will be having Chromebook distributions this week (see below for more information). All students need to have a school Chromebook. Grades 1 and 5 will need to return those they have to get new ones for this school year.
Our office staff has been working very hard connecting with all of you that are needing support. Please be patient with them as they are doing their best to get through all of the e-mails, calls, and requests as soon as they can.
If you need help, please call our office at (707)890-3935; the office is open for calls/emails from 7:30-4 Monday through Friday.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions. I can receive emails in both English and Spanish at jcooper@srcs.k12.ca.us
Main Office Closed to the Public
Unfortunately, our Main Office is closed to the public. This is because the entire SRCS School District has decided to close all Main Offices to the public due to the increase in cases of COVID-19 in Sonoma County and our position on the "watch list." We understand how challenging this is for many of you, but please know that we are here to support you via phone and/or email.
As our staff continues to support our families I am excited to see many of you becoming more tech-savvy! Thank you for trying so hard to stay connected.
Chromebook Distribution Days
Students in 1st and 5th grade will need to return the Chromebook they were provided last year so we can issue them a new one.
All other students who did not receive a Chromebook or students who are incoming kindergarteners will need to come to Helen Lehman Elementary School to pick up your device.
Please drive into the staff parking lot. It will be very similar to how you came onto campus at the end of last year.
Wear a mask and maintain the 6ft distance of others outside of your family. The rest of the campus is closed to the public.
We will be sending out reminders throughout the week, as well as any updates to this process.
*We will not be replacing broken Chromebooks at this time.
The distribution will take place:
- Thursday, August 13th from 5pm-7pm
- Friday, August 14th from 10am-4pm
