Set Restriction for Apps and Movies
All apps in the Apple Apps Store have a rating. The ratings range from 4+ to 17+. You can set up parameters that will keep your child from installing apps that have a 17+ rating.
Here are the steps to set up this restriction:
1. Select the Settings button
2. Select Restrictions
3. Set a Passcode
4. Enable Restrictions
5. Under Allowed Content, select Apps
6. Select 4+, 9+, 12+ (17+ should turn red to indicate it is not allowed.)
Now when your child goes to the Apple App Store and tries to purchase an app that has a 17+ rating, the passcode you set will be required before the app can be installed. Some apps that you wouldn't expect, like the Google Chrome browser, come with a 17+ rating. When this occurs, you will get to be the judge of whether or not your child installs the app.
