TBMS January Update
We are Safe, Kind & Responsible
Message from Mr. Beierman
Hello Twin Bluff Middle School families!
I hope you have enjoyed some quality family and relaxation time over the holiday break. We are about to start a new calendar year with the same expectations that we shared way back at the beginning of the school year in 2023. Our expectations for students and staff at TBMS are to strive to always be Safe, Kind, and Responsible.
Mrs. Seleski and I will be meeting with all students when we return and remind them that, even though it’s a brand new calendar year, the expectations are still the same.
- We will be Safe ~ we will keep our bodies under control and give each other personal space.
- We will be Kind ~ we will speak to each other as we would like to be spoken to, and we will lift each other up.
- We will be Responsible ~ we will think about our actions and how they might affect others. We will own our behavior and apologize when we make mistakes.
When we kick off 2024 with students on Jan. 2, we will continue to use and remind students to consistently use the concept of saying “please” and “thank you” when we speak to one another. Yes, I know it sounds very simplistic, but it’s lacking in our school and society so our staff will model the behavior and ask the students to do the same. This simple act will support our Kind expectations and will help us communicate more clearly and accurately. Feel free to practice this with your student over the holiday break!
I look forward to working with you and supporting your child to achieve their maximum potential. Our staff is dedicated to inspiring our students and making their experience at Twin Bluff Middle School a positive and productive one.
Happy New Year!
Be safe and well.
Mr. Beierman
Upcoming Calendar Notes

Monday January 15th: No School for Students
Friday January 19th: Last day of 1st semester
Triple A Fun Day for 7th graders
On December 15th, the 7th graders that qualified were rewarded with a Triple A Fun Day. Triple A stands for attendance, attitude & academics. Students that had completed their work and turned it in on time were rewarded with fun activities for 70 minutes at the end of the day. Those that didn't qualify spent time working on the missing assignments. This is just one way we reward students for being responsible.
Winter Break starts with a Friday Fun Day for all students!
During the whole day on Friday December 22nd, all students participated in an assortment of fun activities. There were lots of holiday arts and crafts, some baking, games and of course swimming and dodgeball. Mrs. Weess was the official Elf Greeter the morning of our Fun Day!
Winter I GO took place in December.
I Go stands for Introduction to the Great Outdoors! During the week of December 11th, 5th grade students participated in a winter IGO experience led by Jason Jech of the Red Wing ELC.The students built an outdoor fire to cook pancakes, did some orienteering, and learned about adaptations that animals need to make in order to survive in the winter months. They were able to see different species of animal pelts during this discussion. It was a different experience without the snow cover this year!
December was the Band Concert and January will be our Choir Concert
Get ready to witness some more musical talent from our Twin Bluff Students. This month Rosalyn Stotmeister will have her 6th & 7th grade choirs sing at Hovda Auditorium Red Wing High School. The concert is on January 8th and starts at 6:30 PM. Last month, the band concert was standing room only. Lead by Michael Amend, the students performed very well playing some challenging music. The next concert will be this spring on May 14th.
Attendance line 651-385-4550, please use it.
The attendance line should be used not only when there is an absence, but also when you need your student to be picked up early or the end of day plans change. Messages left on the general line are not retrieved as frequently as the ones on the attendance line. If you call the main line and say you are on your way to pick up the student, we may not be able to get to them in time for the appointment etc. Remember your student may be in PE class outside, in band (where they don't hear the phone ring), or their class is on the playground. So the earlier the notification the better for us to make that happen on on timely basis. Thank you!!
ParentVue access
ParentVue gives you access to your student's school information such as attendance and grades. We will also be using it for report cards this year instead of mailing them. Please call or email the office to get an activation key to get things started. Once you have the activation key you can access your account through the link below or any of the links on the district or school building webpages. You must have an email address to use this system.
Bus App available
First Student, the school's transportation provider, will be using an app called FirstView to provide live tracking of your student's bus. Our school district code is 6PD6. This will be the code to use for any building in the district. No personal information is required to use the app.
To download the app, go to www.firstvewapp.com.
Request from the Nurse
Students are required to see the school nurse before going home ill. If your student contacts you during the day to say they aren't feeling well, please let them know to go to the nurse, instead of you coming directly to the school to pick them up. The nurse will evaluate the student and call you directly if the student needs to go home. Thanks for your help.
Book Fair a Great Sucess
You can still order online if there is something that your student was interested in. Proceeds of the online sales will continue to gain scholastic dollars for out school to put toward books. Here is the link to use:
