Collaboration Week
Fall Collaboration Week will be held during the week of November 18th with a focus on "engagement". If you haven't already done so, please consider signing up for one of these worthwhile learning walks. With 14 opportunities this week, staff can satisfy a good portion of their FLiP hours while walking and talking with your Titan colleagues. What's better than that??
Thursday will be the 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off in the main hallway faculty room! Please consider participating by cooking up a tasty treat or stopping down to sample and vote for the best chili! There may be a trophy in your future!
Here are a couple of worthwhile articles on Engagement in the classroom:

A changing philosophy about discipline...
I came across this graphic recently and it captures nicely the shift we are attempting to undergo in dealing with discipline issues. This is work in progress as we are just starting this work as we begin to utilize community circles in the building. Recently, we sent five colleagues to a Train the Trainer session on community circles. Stay tuned for updates on how you can begin to explore this technique for building trust and relationships within the classroom.
