Athletes of the Month for March
Titan Athlete: Clara Whilden
Sport: Indoor Track
Coach: Jenn Forsey
Reason why you nominated this athlete:
Clara is able to multitask with her indoor track practices and her volleyball club practices. Despite training for 2 sports, she is able to put in all the necessary work at track to become a better high jumper. In Clara’s two meets we had this season, she jumped to 2 PR’s, the last one, breaking a 16 year old school record, jumping 5’0”. She then went on and won Class A1 Sectionals.
Titan Athlete: Sean Smith
Sport: Indoor Track
Coach: Jenn Forsey
Reason why you nominated
this athlete:
Sean has always put in the hard work for his throwing events. Starting the season off without having any meets, Sean took it upon himself to find meets to compete in the weight throw, so he would be able to compete in Nationals. Sean succeeded and ended up placing 3rd as an All American, with a PR, and breaking his own school record and Section V record with a throw of 70’8”. At one Monroe County meet we had, Sean also broke his own shot put school record at 53’. He went on and won Class A1 Sectionals with his final throw.
Boys Basketball
The Boys were the 2 seed and beat Brockport in the opening round of sectionals 78-61. Jackson Kulik had 25 points and 8 rebounds. Sean Mason Had 20 points and 3 assists. Andrew Quin added 19 points and 7 rebounds and Tyler Williams had 6 points 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the win.
The Titans took on Irondequoit on Thursday in the Semifinal game.
The boys battled hard Thursday evening against Irondequoit but came up short. They lost the game 61-51. Jackson Kulik finished with 22 points and 7 rebounds.
Hockey
The Hockey team had the 6th seed going into their sectional game on Tuesday with 3rd seed Penfield. They lost 5-1 after being down 4-1 after the first period. Playing solid hockey for periods 2 and 3. Cade Spencer scored the lone goal for the Titans. With the loss the Titans complete the season with a 7-5-1 record.
Some of our Titan Soccer Players were recently featured in a Dick's commercial. The boys are featured at very beginning, 30 seconds and 45-50 second mark. Check it out!
Have a great weekend!
