A note from the Head of School
Welcome to a new week at CSA,
This week is Parent Teacher Conference week. It is not too late to sign-up for a conference. Use the link below to register. Families have the option of coming in person to conference with teachers or virtually. Conferences are fifteen minutes long and began at 12:40 pm on Thursday, February 9th. Scholars will be dismissed early at 12:00 pm.
There will be no monthly parent meeting for February. Please join us on March 13th.
Black History Month at CSA is here. Our celebration kicked off last Saturday with the 31st annual Black Heritage Concert. The show was held at the Cleveland Institute of Music and features works from the CSA choir and orchestra ensemble. This year's concert marked the return of this signature event since the pandemic. For more BHM activities and events see our calendar outline below.
As a school of performing and creative arts, we aim to help each individual perfect their craft and develop a love of art that propels them through life. We believe that art is one of humanity's greatest forms of communication and we plan to spread the message of love and unity throughout the City of Cleveland. #artisforever

Cleveland Institute of Art student Derek Walker discovers his voice as a painter
Some of Derek Walker’s earliest memories include learning how to draw from his father and cousin. Walker loved to draw cars, particularly Lamborghinis, as a boy.
Today the Cleveland of Institute of Art senior is establishing his voice as an artist in Cleveland with his paintings featuring hometown images and iconography.
Walker is a graduate of the Cleveland School of the Arts and received a unique opportunity when the school moved into its new building.
“My class of students were one of the first students to actually enroll into the building, because it was newly built and they wanted to make the school a bit more welcoming to the students,” Walker said. “So, they invited several artists of the school to create murals on all of the blank walls.”
