January 2019 Newsletter

Our 2018-2019 FFA Officers

Please welcome Mr. Marshall to PVMS Agri-Science and FFA Advisor

I am a Pasco County native, was born in Dade City, and graduated from Pasco High. MY family owns one of the oldest farms in Pasco County. I am an outdoors enthusiast and a certified NASP archery instructor. I have a background as a middle school science teacher and am passionate about the environment, agriculture, food production, sustainability, fishing, hunting, economics, and conservation. I am looking forward to helping my students fall in love with the natural world in a hands-on practical way and helping to prepare the next generation for a successful future as leaders in agricultural science.

Extemporaneous Public Speaking LDE Winner!

Congratulations to Riley Blessing who won the Extemporaneous Public Speaking LDE. She will be going to Regionals in Dover on January 18th. #PantherProud

This Leadership Development Event is design ed to develop the ability of FFA members to express themselves on a given subject without having prepared or rehearsed its content in advance, therefore causing FFA members to formulate their remarks for presentation in a very limited amount of time. Students should be knowledgeable in many areas of agriculture and agricultural events. Riley developed a 4-6 minute speech on the branding of foods in agriculture and the romaine lettuce recall within the 30 minute time limit and present the speech to a panel of judges.
