Central Update Bulletin - Issue 17

Welcome Our New Team Members

We are super excited to welcome two new team members to our amazing Central Team. Mrs. Lori Clark will be joining us in the Kinder position formally filled by Ms. Galvez. Mrs. Galvez will be moving on to do her student teaching, but will be her for the next week helping Mrs. Lori Clark get settled into the classroom. Mrs. Lori Clark is a UNT graduate who student taught in Coppell. She has a shared passion for our mission and we are truly lucky she decided to join our team.

We will also be welcoming Mrs. Lala Patel as a part time aide to assist Mrs. Sandlin. Mrs. Patel has been in the district for many years and has most recently been working at Blair. She will be here on Monday, Wednesday, and every other Friday. She will be at La Villita the other days.

Please help us in welcoming our new members to our team.

Tier 2 Data Entry

Please plan on entering in all Tier 2 Data into Edugence by January 5th. This should include progress monitoring. You are responsible for all of your Tier 2 students even if they meet with Mrs. McDonnell, Mrs. Gunter, Mrs. Nicasio, Mrs. Omar or Mrs. Balderamos. These teachers should be giving the information, progress monitoring, to input in the next day or two. Please let us know if you have any questions. Mrs. Canales will be holding a training at 9:30 in the computer lab on the teacher work day for all those who may need a refresher or do not know how to enter this data.

AMP Time

We will be discussing your grade level goals for the coming Semester. Please be prepared to discuss your plans to achieve your grade level goals this semester and what needs you and your team may have as well to achieve these goals. These goals should be specific and actionable based on the needs of your students as a grade level whole. Please discuss this with your teams prior to the AMP time. We are looking forward to hearing your goals and how we can help.

Here is a good example and template for setting goals from Stanford University: https://goo.gl/KdACA5

Focus Point: Student Goal Setting

It's the time of year that everyone sets their New Year's Resolution. This teacher has a great way of looking at goals in a more fluid way. Goals are something we set and forget. Goals are somethings we set, monitor, adjust, develop, restructure, revise, and continue to develop. Goals in short are fluid. Please watch this video and consider how you might implement something like this in your class.
