A Note from Mrs. Strange

Wellington families,

I hope you had a safe and happy spring break! It's been great to see our students back and working hard! The last weeks of school will be packed with many activities; please check out the dates below and be sure to mark your calendar! The last day of school has not been set yet but will be communicated by our Superintendent as soon as it is. Events such as end-of-year programs, 5th grade promotion, Fun Day, etc. will be set once the last day of school is determined.

Our Spring Book Fair will take place next week, beginning on Monday, April 17th. We will be having a Family Literacy Night on April 20 that will allow families and students to shop at the Book Fair, hear stories read in various languages, and learn more about our PTA! Please also feel welcome to come to lunch with your child one day next week and shop during that time as well! Please remember to bring a photo ID, follow our Visitor protocol, and let your child's teacher know you are going to the Book Fair when you visit!

I hope you will take a moment to complete the Parent/Guardian Input Form for class placement as well as consider the nomination process for our Site Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council. More information is included below.

As always, thank you for supporting teaching and learning at Wellington! You are appreciated!

Sincerely,

Julie Strange

Principal,

Parent Input Form - Student Placement 2023-24

Please consider completing the Parent Input Form to assist with our 2023-24 Student Placement process. This is an opportunity for you to share your perspective regarding your child's strengths and areas for growth. Our goal is always to place children in classrooms best suited to their learning needs. Parent/Guardian Input Forms will be due by Friday, May 5, 2023. Consideration is given to all information supplied by parents/guardians.

**Forms returned with a request for a specific teacher will not be considered.

If your child will not be returning to Wellington next year, please complete the first section of the form to indicate that. This information is very important to us as we make class placements and monitor projected enrollment.

Thank you for your time!

Lost and Found!

One of our STLP Projects was developing a system for the Lost and Found at Wellington! The children have gotten over 75 items organized on racks in the cafeteria/gym foyer, cataloged and ready to go! Please view our Lost and Found Link to view items. Please notice there is a number associated with each item and a form linked to the website where you can fill out the name and item. Once forms are turned in, our team will return the item to the child! The Wellington STLP team has worked on this collectively, with special credit given to 5th grader Jayden Hans for developing the website and form!
