Let's Talk TPS
District Communication - April 27, 2022
TPS Families -
It was such a pleasure to see the breadth and depth of our Earth Day activities! From plastic bottle bird feeders to rain and rock gardens, bottle top murals to Lego sculptures and plastic bottle flags, the creativity and messaging were there for all to see. Thank you to our creative teachers, students, and especially our parent volunteers!
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month and as it draws to a close, I would like to send a special thank you to our H.S.A.s and parent and community volunteers who support our every day activities and events. We could not do what we do without you!
This weekend, our high school presents Disney The Little Mermaid. We have added a fourth performance this year, a 2pm matinee, to give everyone a chance to see this incredible production. Details on how to get your tickets are below.
Finally, as we all know, this is an incredibly busy time of year and we do try to share with you as many of the wonderful events and achievements as we can, but we can't fit them all in one place. Follow us on social media, read the entire newsletter, and be sure to visit our website regularly to stay up to date on all of our news and information.
Yours in Education,
Shauna C. DeMarco

Attend this presentation to learn about the developmental stage of early adulthood and reflect on communication skills and parenting strategies for parents of adults. Join the conversation via Zoom.
Change to District Calendar - Schools Closed on May 26th
Each year, our district builds several snow days into the school calendar. At the April 25th BOE Meeting, the Board voted to approve changing the 2021-2022 school district calendar to give back an unused snow day, making Thursday, May 26th a Schools Closed day and Friday, May 27th a District Closed day. The website calendar has been updated.
Holocaust Remembrance Day
Tomorrow, April 28th is Holocaust Remembrance Day. To recognize the day and its significance, the district has planned presentations at each of the schools that lead to a district-wide event. This event will not only further educate our students but will pull together students and staff from all six of our schools to illustrate the importance of this historical date. We encourage you to speak with your students following the event to learn what was shared and their feelings and impressions from the day.
We are sharing some resources if you would like to pursue additional discussions to commemorate this day with your student. Thank you.

Reminder - How to Spot a Scam Email
Email scammers are tricky! They send emails that look legitimate but are actually viruses in disguise. The email may look like it is from someone familiar - our Technology Department, a teacher, or even a friend – but it’s actually an internet crook trying to steal information from you or infect your account with a computer virus.
For helpful tips and tricks from our TPS Technology Department, visit the Technology webpage on the TPS website.
