PVE Friday Focus-1/22/16
"Where A Great Beginning Lasts A Lifetime"
Week in Review
The video above is what was shared and discussed at our short staff meeting on Thursday. Please give it a view if you were not present. It is short and good. It really speaks to the heart of kids can!
"There's somthing happening here!".......no, this is not the start of a Buffalo Springfield song (even though you may be able to hear the music playing in the background) but rather something that will come to mind when you visit the Adventure Center or visit with a student working on Genius Hour in a PVE classroom. We are seeing projects in all stages of work. In addition, many students are working in many different ways. Students are engaged in critical thinking, communication, exploration, experimentation, collaboration, and creativity which we all know to be great pieces of student work.

One Book One School
April is National Poetry month. We will be doing poetry for One Book One School during the month of April. If anyone has ideas or wants to help with this school wide project, let Carly know!
We are still in the heat of the testing season.
Just a few friendly reminders:
- ALL AIMSWeb winter testing needs to be completed by the end of the testing window (February 1st officially, but January 29th for Rooney Report).
- If you are concerned about a student in math, please make sure they have 3 data points that can be used to determine areas of need. (Ex. 3rd grade: Math NWEA, MCAP, MCOMP)
- Check the Universal Literacy Screening 2015-2016, if you need updated on your grade level’s winter assessments. You can find it here in Canvas: https://zcs.instructure.com/courses/263/pages/assessment-information
Literacy PLC will be meeting on Tuesday, February 2nd in the Adventure Center, 8:10.
