Perserverance

“I think I can play baseball Mr. Rickey” this quote shows that Jackie is ready and confident for his first game..(page 294, Robinson, Jackie. "The Noble Experiment" Comp.Alfred Duckett. The Language of Literature. Vol.7. Evanston: McDougal Littell, 2002.288-95)

Jackie Robinson was asked by Branch Rickey to play in the major league and Jackie said yes and he had to stick with his decision and not give up no matter what happens. It was a hard time for blacks so for him to play baseball was even harder.(page 292, Robinson, Jackie. "The Noble Experiment" Comp.Alfred Duckett. The Language of Literature. Vol.7. Evanston: McDougal Littell, 2002.288-95)

“Mr. Rickey are you looking for a person who is afraid to fight back?” “Robinson, I’m looking for a ballplayer with guts enough to not fight back”. That shows that Robinson does have guts and branch Rickey believes in him..(page 294, Robinson, Jackie. "The Noble Experiment" Comp.Alfred Duckett. The Language of Literature. Vol.7. Evanston: McDougal Littell, 2002.288-95)

Jackie Robinson knew that he had to face what was coming in the game, name calling, physical abuse, and everyone making fun of him even his own team. He even had to learn that he would have to dodge beanball troughs .(page 294, Robinson, Jackie. "The Noble Experiment" Comp.Alfred Duckett. The Language of Literature. Vol.7. Evanston: McDougal Littell, 2002.288-95)
