Student Council and PTO Support CCF Food Bank

On Friday, December 5th the Citizens Memorial Elementary School Student Council and the PTO hosted a Family Movie Night. The students decided that instead of charging money for admission the patrons would be charged one non-perishable food item or tolietry per person. The result was phenomenal. Our student council collected over 290 items to donate to the Connecting Children with Families Food Bank, a local food bank in Woonsocket, RI.

In attendance we students, families, school faculty and community partners. Over 150 people came to participate. It was a great night, a great movie and great event that supported our school and community!

Team from Strategic Procurement at CVS Celebrate Through Giving

On Friday, December 12th, representatives from CVS Health's Strategic Procurement Division delivered boxes of school supplies for classrooms at Citizens Memorial Elementary School. Earlier this fall the folks from Strategic Procurement asked what could they do for our students and teachers for the holidays. After giving them some suggestions they decided to give our school community supplies for our classrooms.

We our so appreciative of their generosity and support! This team of individuals cares about our school and we are honored to have them as part of our community.

THANK YOU!

A big THANK YOU goes out to Mrs Stockwell for taking on this project as the liason/coordinator form our school!

Citizens Memorial Elementary School Participates in the Woonsocket Holiday Stroll

The Holiday Stroll is a tradition in Woonsocket. Its a fun filled afternoon and evening of activities, music, and vendors.

This year all Woonsocket elementary schools were invited to participate in the Holiday Tree Decorating Contest. Each school was given a tree to decorate and people could cast a vote for their favorite tree.

Although our tree didn't win, it still looked awesome. Our tree was covered with ornaments designed and created by the students at Citizens Memorial.

Special Thanks to RI Dental Arts for supplying the ornamental "trees", Mrs Charette, Mrs Boisvert, Mrs Dube, Mrs. Phillips, Jen White and her staff from the Citizens After School Program and all of our students!
