Siskiyou Fields Farm is excited to announce openings in our dairy goat herdshare!
What is a herdshare?
A herdshare is a group of people that collectively own a herd of animals, in our case, dairy goats. Basically, each member buys a portion of the herd and then pays the farmer to manage the herd, milk the goats and deliver the milk to herdshare members.
- A full share entitles the herdshare member to an average of 1/2 gallon of milk per week
- $30 monthly fee: This fee pays for care of the herd, milking and delivery of milk to herdshare members and monthly bacterial and pathogen testing
- $25 buy-in: This is the member’s fee for buying a portion of the herd and is a one-time fee. Each share is equal to 1/10 of one goat.
- Entitles the herdshare member to an average of 1/4 gallon of milk per week
- $15 monthly fee
- $12.50 buy-in
