A Message for All Families at Freedom Preparatory Academy
Dear Freedom Prep families:
Happy Fall, everyone! We hope you’ve been enjoying the cooler temperatures and lovely fall weather. As we wind down the first quarter of the 2021-22 school year, here are the latest FPA news, updates, and accolades.

Saturday School: FPA Saturday School begins this month! We’re offering three dates for our students this fall, beginning with high school students on October 23. With math and reading acceleration and free ACT tutoring, our Saturday School sessions will give us more time to focus on academic excellence while having a little fun as well. (Don’t miss our Halloween theme on October 30!)

Fall Family and Student Surveys: Please be sure to take the Q1 Freedom Prep Family Survey before it closes on October 18 and ask your child to take the appropriate Student Learning Survey as well:

Brownlee Renovation: We’re on track to complete the BEAUTIFUL RENOVATION of our Brownlee Campus in Q2! Our first and second floors are complete and will be home to Freedom Prep High School. Our third floor is nearing completion and will be home to FPA Whitehaven Middle School. Located right off of Elvis Presley Boulevard, the fully renovated building will feature two main offices - one for each school - and will offer all the latest technology for our students and staff members. We’re so excited about this project and can hardly wait to show you the completed work! Stay tuned for more pics and details soon!
Hispanic Heritage Festival: Many thanks to all of you who attended our Hispanic Heritage Festival yesterday! We had a great time celebrating Hispanic cultures and nationalities with all of our Freedom Prep families for the fourth year in a row! We’re already looking forward to next year’s event!
Fall Break: Don’t forget - Freedom Prep will be on fall break from Saturday, October 9 through Monday, October 18 (Teacher Professional Development Day). Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 19.
Flu and Meningitis Vaccination: The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting a flu vaccination each fall. Learn more about influenza here.
Meningococcal meningitis is caused by bacteria and may result in blindness, hearing loss, mental retardation, loss of limbs or death. All students entering 7th and 12th grade must have the meningococcal vaccine. Without it, a student is not permitted to attend school. Read our full meningitis vaccine notice here.

Escuela sabatina: ¡La escuela de los sábados de FPA comienza este mes! Estamos ofreciendo tres fechas para nuestros estudiantes este otoño, comenzando con los estudiantes de secundaria el 23 de octubre. Con apoyo acelerado en matemáticas, lectura y tutoría de ACT gratuita, nuestras sesiones de escuela de los sábados nos darán más tiempo para enfocarnos en la excelencia académica mientras nos divertimos un poco. Renovación de Brownlee: ¡Estamos en camino de completar la HERMOSA RENOVACIÓN de nuestro campus de Brownlee en el segundo trimestre! Nuestro primer y segundo piso están completos y serán el hogar de Freedom Prep High School. Nuestro tercer piso está casi terminado y será el hogar de la Escuela Secundaria FPA de Whitehaven. Ubicado justo al lado del Boulevard Elvis Presley, el edificio completamente renovado contará con dos oficinas principales, una para cada escuela, y ofrecerá la última tecnología para nuestros estudiantes y miembros del personal. ¡Estamos muy entusiasmados con este proyecto y estamos ansiosos por mostrarles el trabajo terminado! ¡Estén atentos para más fotos y detalles pronto!
Festival de la Herencia Hispana: ¡Muchas gracias a todos los que asistieron ayer a nuestro Festival de la Herencia Hispana! ¡Lo pasamos muy bien celebrando las culturas y nacionalidades hispanas con todas nuestras familias de Freedom Prep por cuarto año consecutivo! ¡Ya estamos deseando que llegue el evento del próximo año!
Vacaciones de otoño: ¡No lo olviden!: Freedom Prep estará en las vacaciones de otoño desde el sábado 9 de octubre hasta el lunes 18 de octubre (Día de desarrollo profesional para maestros). Las clases se reanudarán el martes 19 de octubre.
Vacuna contra la influenza y la meningitis: La influenza es una enfermedad respiratoria contagiosa causada por los virus de la influenza. Puede causar una enfermedad leve hasta una grave y, en ocasiones, puede provocar la muerte. La mejor manera de prevenir la gripe es vacunándose contra la gripe cada otoño. La meningitis meningocócica es causada por bacterias y puede provocar ceguera, pérdida de audición, retraso mental, pérdida de extremidades o la muerte. Todos los estudiantes que ingresan al 7º y 12º grado deben tener la vacuna antimeningocócica. Sin él, un estudiante no puede asistir a la escuela.
