Alexander Mackenzie

Alexander Mackenzie was born 1764 on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland. His career of being an explorer kicked off when he was 10 years old in 1774 when his father brought him from Britain to New York where a revolution was beginning. once there his father joined the kings royal regiment of New York. In 1780 Alexander's dad died of unknown causes. Alexander was then taken in by his aunts who had moved to Johnston and later move to Montreal where he started school
legacy
he was one of the founders of fort Chipewyan he also led two expeditions, one was to the arctic ocean and the other was from peace river to the pacific ocean
