Senior Celebrations Start Tonight!
Events and Details for the Class of 2020
May 26, 7 p.m.: Senior Tribute
While we may not be able to have our ceremony on May 26 as planned, we still want to celebrate our seniors. Mr. Barta and his students have created a senior tribute/celebration video that will broadcast via the livestream network on May 26 at 7 p.m.

May 27, 9-3 p.m.: Senior Day
Get your smiles ready - on May 27, seniors will be getting their diplomas, wearing caps/gowns/cords, and having their photo taken by LifeTouch!
This means having your gowns ironed out and photo-ready. Each student can bring two guests to watch picture taking. Senior day will also be the time to:
- Drop off iPad. Please view and complete reset instructions, found here.
- Drop off any other school books or materials
- Drop off athletic uniforms
- Pick up any prizes from After Prom drawing
- Pay Fees – We are asking families to pay fees online if possible. If that is not possible, we will have someone at the JHS accounting window (Door #2/Activities) to accept cash.
A lengthy email with complete details and a driving map has been sent to all JHS seniors and parents today. Please review that email for full directions. It is also posted to the JHS website.
*In the event of rain each location will be directly inside the door. If you are unable to attend on May 27, please come to the high school on May 28. Please note, no photographer will be available on the 28th, but all other stations will be open.

June 27: Virtual Graduation Ceremony
June 27 (rain date June 28): JHS In-Person Graduation Ceremony *TENTATIVE*
An in-person ceremony caps off the true graduation experience. If it is deemed safe and permission from the state health department and Johnston Police department is given, we will hold an in-person graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 27, with a rain date of Sunday, June 28. The ceremony would take place at Dragon Stadium (JHS).
An in-person ceremony this year will look and feel different than other years due to safety measures. It's important to note that as of right now, no school or group has permission to gather in groups larger than 10 people. We need to ensure we are following health and safety standards, as well as proclamations from the Governor on group gathering size.
An alternative to the June dates is Saturday, July 18, with a rain date of Sunday, July 19, again at Dragon Stadium. This date may be an option if group gathering size is opened up after June 30.
As we know more about group gathering standards and feasibility for both sets of dates, we will communicate our in-person plan with students and families.
