Author Visit Charlton Trujillo

On October 15, our students had the pleasure of meeting hispanic author e.E.Charlton-Trujillo. She delighted our students with her engaging presentation and writing techniques.

Author Visit April Henry

What an honor it was to have author April Henry visit PSJA on October 21, 2019. April Henry is an American New York Times bestselling author of mysteries, thrillers, and young adult novels. The students really enjoyed her visit. Thank you Mrs. Nora Galvan for making this possible.

Tech-Friday: OSMO

Tech-Friday was a hit! Students had an opportunity to explore OSMO Masterpiece.


Strand 4: Digital Learning- Effective school libraries are a vital hub with equitable access to emerging technologies.

Book Character Contest

On Halloween students were encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character for our contest. Congratulations to Soledh for her amazing recreation of "Edward Scissorhands" by Kate Ledh.


Strand 3: Reading-School library programs promote reading as an essential skill for learning, personal growth, and enjoyment which are essential skills for college, career, and community.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Our library got into the fall spirit by having a pumpkin decorating contest. Congratulations to our top entries for favorite college and favorite book.

Trick or Treating in the Library

On Halloween our Special Education Students went trick or treating around campus. We were so excited that they made a stop at our library. A special thanks to HEB Plus! in Pharr for their donations that were used for the goodie bags.

Library Showcase: Art Classes

The 2nd 6wks we showcased drawings and hunted houses created by our art students.

Library Statistics

The library is the hub of the school. Students come by everyday to work on assignments, check out books, read and visit our cafe. The following events also took place the 2nd 6wks:


- 1,781 students signed in when visiting the library

- 60 classes reserved and used the library lab

- 4 book club meetings took place

- 3 days of STAAR Academies were hosted

- 1 PAC meeting

- 5 testing days took place in the library

- every Friday STC students report to the library

Top Patron & Sign-in Winner

Google Certified

Our librarian, Mrs. Ochoa, became a Level 1 Google Certified Educator in October.

Presenter at District 4 Meeting

Mrs. Ochoa was also invited to present at the annual District 4 meeting. She introduced public librarians to EcoRise.
