Shout Outs
- Dallas Jordan-Evans was nominated by S. Knowles for the MLK Dream Keeper Scholarship. She was chosen as the recipient of the Josiah Caden Memorial Scholarship for academic excellence and volunteering in the community. Dallas was the youngest and only elementary aged student to receive this recognition.
- T. Randolph's class for leading Friday's learning celebration.
- PTO board for hosting an amazing Mother-Son dance. Our mom's had an absolute blast and requested that we make this an annual school event.
USC Science Course
We value our partnership with USC School of Education. Dr. Steve Thompson will host a science course this spring at DFES on Monday's from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the mini theater. Please join us in welcoming these prospective educators to DFES.
Data Team Tuesday
Tuesday, January 23 is a designated district data team day. We will meet with our grade level data teams for a short period of time in the cafeteria.

Book Club Celebration
The Literacy Team will host a Book Club Party for students who are currently receiving reading intervention on Tuesday evening, January 23 from 6-7:30pm.
We will serve a pizza/salad dinner and have a brief presentation/ceremony afterwards.

M. Creech's first grade class will lead Friday's learning celebration. We look forward to learning from these small teachers as the give us insights on what they've learned through the social sciences and Dr. Martin Luther King.

Rocking 80's Princess Ball
A daughter may outgrow your lap...but will never outgrow your heart! Dust off your leg warmers and tease up your hair. Come party with the PTO...be there or be square.
The cost is $20 per couple and $10 per extra child. I'm personally looking forward to this year's themed Princess Ball.
