Report Cards:
The third nine weeks has ended. Your child has been tested over their 3rd quarter checklist and their report card is complete.
Your child should have mastered all items on the 3rd checklist. (The check list is on white paper) Please look at the checklist carefully. Each skill area will be in a separate section/box. The left side shows all of the correct answers. The right side shows what your child has NOT yet mastered. Please use the right side as a list of things to work on at home with your child.
On your child's report card they will be receiving one of the following grades in Reading and Math. (Report cards are on green paper)
The grades are as follows:
O= (Outstanding) 90-100%,
S (Satisfactory) =80-89%,
I (Improving)= 70-79%,
N (Needs Improvement) =60-69%,
U= (Unsatisfactory) 59% or below
The grades on your child’s report card come from the skills listed on the checklist, as well as tests taken in class. These tests include: weekly fluency sentences, phonics word lists, cold read booklets, nursery rhymes, spelling tests, AR tests, and math tests. In all other subjects they are given a CR for credit/participation.
If your child earned an N or U, it means that they are not on grade level and have NOT mastered the skills they needed to be successful next year in first grade.
Please keep their checklist and report card at home for your records. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me!
