Jane Addams Events and PTA News
It is hard to believe we are already well into October!
We are so proud of our students and thankful for our staff who support us all everyday.
We want to let you know about some exciting events as we welcome in fall at Jane Addams School!
At Jane Addams we will be sharing a week long week of fall-themed celebrations with your family during the week of October 25- October 29th. Each day, your child's teacher will be providing you a focus for your student to either dress as, or describe an activity to you that Jane Addams' students will be participating in school-wide. Of course, all events are optional, but are meant to bring a flavor of fall family fun to our learning community.
In culmination of these events, we will have two highlights to end the week. The first is a Trunk and Treat, sponsored by JA PTA. We will welcome families in the back lot of JA from 5-9pm on Thursday, October 28th. Your family may visit the trunk of PTA members and JA Staff for a small gift or treat. Please note, only students with guardians may attend.
Finally, on October 29th we are altering our normal fall parties to accommodate our COVID restrictions, while still allowing some traditions to continue. On the morning of October 29th, students may wear a costume to school, but will not be allowed to change through the day. At 9:00, a parade around the school (starting at door #1 and traveling in order around the school parameter, #2 next, etc. and re-entering Door #1) will allow parents to observe their students.
As a reminder, there will be no visitors inside on October 29th. If raining, we will move our parade to Monday, November 1st at 9:00 a.m. beginning at Door #1. The parade will start with our kindergarten classes and end at 6th grade.
We are happy to celebrate with your student and family and thank the PTA for our Trunk and Treat on Thursday, October 28th from 5-7 p.m.
As a gentle reminder, the PTA accepts you membership all year long:

Schools will provide sufficient information and notification to parents and guardians in advance of any lockdown drill that involves the participation of students.
Schools will provide parents and guardians an opportunity to exempt their child for any reason from participating in the walk-through lockdown drill.
Schools will provide alternative safety education and instruction related to an active threat or active shooter event to students who do not participate in a walk-through lockdown drill to provide them with essential information, training, and instruction through less sensorial safety training methods.
Building administrators will notify families of upcoming drills at least one week in advance of the drill. If you prefer your child does NOT participate in the yearly required lockdown drills, please complete this form. Please submit one form for each of your children you are opting out.
