Tiger Times
NEWS AND INFO FOR SLATER STAFF 9.23
We believe in your commitment, so we want to be responsive. We pushed back a number of meetings this week to give you more time. So, with the exception of RTI/SST, there are no meetings this week! (Please understand that this can't always happen, but we were able to make this work for now.)
Happy planning!
Dr. Robinson
Ms. Hall
Ms. Jackson and Ms. Turner
During the week of 9/16 we had 162 messages sent to families which was 20 less than last week’s total. Photos and videos shared soared to 59 for the week. We remained at 86% positive student feedback. We are still striving for 90% positive feedback school wide. Please add Principal Kemp, Dean Amos, Dean Moultrie and Coach Turner as co-teachers if you have not done so already. Please reach out to any parents that have not connected with your ClassDojo. Contact Ms. Woods if you need additional support.
The Class Dojo Ideas/Social and Emotional site has some great growth mindset and GRIT videos for your students to view during morning meetings. Find creative ways to blend them in to your mornings!
PBL Timeline
- Project planning (though projects are always living, breathing documents that can be refined based on data and student interest)
- Entry Events
- Project Calendar
This Week:
- Students should be moving toward the end of the project. At this point, students should be receiving feedback on products that are part of the culmination of the project. Students may also be reflecting and revising products.
Next Steps
- Prepare for the PBL Showcase.
- Make sure you have rubrics for the tasks that will be completed throughout the project.
- Make sure that you are following your project calendar to get tasks completed.
- Make connections to the project and the problem everyday.
- Please stop, address and redirect any adult you may see on our hallways without a visitors pass to the front office.
- Immediately intervene anytime you see students in conflict. Remember it only takes a moment for a spark to turn into a fire. Students under your supervision should be monitored closely.
- Mr. Moultrie would love and come to read to your class. Please email him to coordinate a time that is ideal.
- Shout out to 1st Grade for taking their Go Packs on our 1st field trip of the year!
- Policy requires all staff members to conspicuously display and wear their ID badge every day. Please contact HR if you need a replacement.
- Going forward we will provide you a document to report your Tiger Tracker results. Be sure to have a count of the number of students who met the goal and the number of students who achieved the 100% club ready when we come around on Monday.
Caught Being Kind ticket fever is spreading! Keep providing cards to students you caught being kind! Extra tickets are in the office. You can also use the attached document to print your own.
