STUDENTS
Weeks of April 24th and May 1st: Jostens Graduation Announcements & Senior Gear Arrive
If you have ordered announcements and/or senior gear from Jostens, please see the main office.
May 1st-5th, May 8th-12th,: A.P. Exams - make-up exams will be May 17th-19th as needed.
May 15th - 18th: Senior Finals - All classes are regular length - Normal Daily Bell Schedule
Monday, May 15th Periods 0 & 7 Exams (Full regular day)
Tuesday, May 16th Periods 5 & 6 Exams (Seniors released after 6th period)
Wednesday, May 17th Periods 3 & 4 Exams (Seniors released after 4th period, Caps & Gowns distributed,)
Thursday, May 18th Periods 1 & 2 Exams (Seniors have Senior Walk*, Senior Assembly period 3)
Please be sure to bring your cap & gown to school for Senior Walk. Period 4 - yearbook distribution and lunch in Eagle Square.
Wednesday, May 17th: Cap and Gown Distribution, Cafeteria 7:30am - 12:30 pm.
All fines must be paid before students will receive their cap and gown.
In order to promote a sense of unity and decorum, no decoration is allowed on the cap, gown, stole, or tassel. (i.e. no leis, corsages, medallions, military stoles, etc). Remember to try on your caps and gowns when they arrive. If there are any issues, contact our local Jostens office, 208-343-0175, and they can help with any problems. Jostens will also be on site at our graduation rehearsal and the graduation ceremony to help with last minute emergencies.
*If you have not ordered a cap and gown you need to call the local Jostens office at 208-343-0175 ASAP.

Thursday, May 18th: Senior Finals, Senior Walk, Senior Best, and yearbook distribution.
Seniors will attend and take finals in periods 1 & 2. Following 2nd period, seniors will report to the gym and put on their caps and gowns for the senior walk. Seniors will start walking the hallways during 3rd period while Pomp and Circumstance plays. Students will then report to the gym for the Senior Best assembly. Once the assembly ends we will distribute yearbooks and a free BBQ will be available to all seniors in the quad.
Wednesday, May 24th: Graduation REHEARSAL, Extra Mile Arena, 10:00 am
All students participating in the graduation ceremony are required to attend the rehearsal. You do not need your cap and gown at this event. All students need to enter through the aux gym doors at Extra Mile Arena by 9:45am. Please plan for time to park and enter the facility.
Wednesday, May 24th: Graduation, Extra Mile Arena, 7:00 pm
Graduation will be held on Monday, May 24th, 2023 at the ExtraMile Arena on the Boise State University campus. The ceremony will begin at 7:00pm. The doors will be open to the public at 6:00pm. Graduates will enter through the aux gym and need to arrive before 6:15pm. Do not bring purses, jackets, etc. Please plan to arrive early due to parking and security. Graduation Attire: Graduation is a formal occasion. Suggested attire for male graduates is a dress shirt and tie, slacks, and dress shoes. Suggested attire for female graduates is a dress or nice top with a skirt or slacks and low-heeled shoes. Students who wear cutoffs, shorts, flip-flops and other inappropriate attire will be asked to change or not participate in the ceremony.
Wednesday, May 24th: Graduation Party at Capital, 10:30 pm - 2:30 am
The Capital High School Class of 2023 will soon be graduating. Parents of these seniors have come together to create a memorable celebration that ALL seniors are invited to attend. This event will provide a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment for celebration. It will include food, activities, prizes, entertainment and FUN!
The graduation celebration will be hosted on the night of graduation, May 24th, from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m in the Capital High School Cafeteria. There will be a $10 cost for seniors to attend. Tickets will be sold during lunch and break at designated times.
PARENTS
Graduation Ceremony: Graduation will be held on Wednesday, May 24th, 2023 at the ExtraMile Arena on the Boise State University campus. The ceremony will begin at 7:00pm. The doors will be open to the public at 6:00pm.
Guests: We are thrilled to announce that there are no limits on the number of guests that may attend the graduation ceremony. Extra Mile Arena will require all guests to enter through a metal detector screening process. Please be sure to not bring prohibited items such as pocket knives or you will be asked to relinquish the item for entry. You can find more information on prohibited items and wheelchair accessibility at the link below.
Live Stream: The ceremony will be live streamed and the link will be provided approximately one week before the event.

2023 Accountability In Healthy Relationships Writing Challenge Announcing Published Authors & Awardees!
Each year we are so inspired by young people’s vision and this year was no different! The Idaho Coalition Against Sexual & Domestic Violence was delighted to receive over 1200 submissions and honored to read what young people wrote about Accountability in Healthy Relationships.
Thank you to Malia Collins, previous Idaho Writer in Residence, for assisting with the selection of the published authors and awardees.

Summer 2023 Driver Education
We will offer two sessions of Driver education this summer.
The first session will be June 1st – June 29th
The second session will be July 6th – August 3rd
Classes are in three-hour blocks 7-10 am, 10-1pm, 1-4pm
1 1/2 hours are in a classroom the other 1 ½ in a car.
Classes are Monday-Friday, all classes are held at Fairmont Jr. High.
Registration will begin April 1st.
You will need to have your permit purchased before registering.

Did you know that the Idaho Interscholastic Cycling League has a mountain bike racing team and club for students at Capital High? If you are interested in connecting with some great people for some fun rides, or interested in the fall race series, you should join! There will be a meeting for students and parents on April 6th at 6:30 in room 232 to orient new members of the club and to discuss preseason and regular season plans. STUDENT PARKING PERMITS
Students parking at Capital must have a 2022-2023 parking permit present in vehicle. Parking Tickets will be issued to any vehicle parked at Capital that does NOT have a parking permit visible in vehicle.
Parking Permit $15.00 (Please bring: car registration, drivers license & proof of insurance to the bookroom. A parking permit will be issued to each student for one vehicle.)
Please do NOT park in numbered spots, those are reserved for Capital Staff. Please do NOT park in RESERVED PARKING SPOTS (marked with signs). You will be ticketed!
