Room 212 News

3rd Grade, Solana Ranch

Dear Families,

I can't believe how quickly the first part of the school year is flying by! This week will be our last week of school before the Thanksgiving Break, but there will still be a homework packet and spelling test. This will also be our review and assessment week from Unit 2 in our Language Arts curriculum.

Thank you so much to those of you who have already sent a 1/2 (one half) inch binder to school for our math workbook. Our desks have very limited storage space, so anything bigger than 1/2 inch does not fit.

Please also take a few minutes to fill out the "Speak Up" survey. This can be found on the Solana Ranch homepage and will ask questions regarding technology. The students and teachers take various versions of the same survey.

Happy Weekend!

Why is Room 212 Successful?

We had a great class discussion about what types of habits and character traits lead to success. How can we be successful beyond just "being smart"? The kids came up with some great ideas!

Reminders and Upcoming Events

  • Thursday 11/20, 5:30-6:30pm: Dad's Club meeting in the Multi Purpose Room
  • 11/24-11/28: No School
  • Our current math module is centered around multiplication and division. Please feel free to practice multiplication and division facts with your child at home. They love flashcards (call it a "game" and they're immediately on board) or you can try out various websites and apps.
  • Don't forget to log Gold Medal Reading books! Our school goal is for all students to reach level 1 by Thanksgiving break.
  • Please remember that Dreambox is part of the weekly homework. At least 2 lessons need to be completed or your child can aim for spending 30-45 min.on the program. Students who do not complete Dreambox homework unfortunately have to go to Study Hall for incomplete homework. Thank you for your support in this at home.
