Angle Properties Vocabulary
Congruent Angles
Alternate Interior- alternate sides of transversal and inside the parallel lines.
Alternate Exterior- alternate sides of transversal and outside the parallel lines.
Vertical- opposite angles "vertices touch"
Corresponding- one inside, one outside and on same side of transversal.
Supplementary Angles
Same Side Interior- same sides of transversal and inside the parallel lines.
Same Side Exterior- same sides of transversal and outside the parallel lines.
- Linear- two angles adjacent on a straight line.
Angle Relationships help find missing values
Two angles that are congruent are the same size. Do you know the measurement or should you set up an equation?
Angles should be equal to each other in equation
Two angles that are supplementary add up to 180 degrees. If you have an angle measurement, then subtract from 180. If not, set up an equation.
- One angle plus another angle equals 180 degrees.
