Ci3T: Opportunities to Respond
Strategy promotes:
- manage behavior
- support instruction
- helps students process knowledge, increase on-task behavior and reduce behavior
There are various ways to provide OTR such as non-verbal strategies Thumbs up/down and green, yellow and red cards. Popsicle sticks require a verbal response (higher risk). You could use this method after students have discussed the answer with a partner to make it a more low intensity activity.

Mindset
A Growth Mindset is the belief that one can develop talents and skills through hard work, strategies and help from others. However, some false growth mindset is happening because not all understand the concept. The three pitfalls addressed in the following article are praising effort alone, blaming the student's mindset and telling students "You can do anything." It also gives insight on how to overcome these pitfalls.
