Dragon Team highlights
Air and Water Dragons are examining rock and mineral samples in Science classes to understand the changes occuring on Earth's surface through the rock cycle. Some Math classes are having fun using relay races to write and evaluate expressions using exponents and the distributive property. In History, students are learning about the contributions of the philosophers and other great minds of Ancient Greece.
In Language Arts, students are learning how to build a great plot by examining fairy tales, and are practicing their expository writing skills using text prompts. 6th grade reading classes are also enjoying Greek Mythology and reading Percy Jackson Lightning Thief.
6th Graders choose their electives this week! Assistant Principal Williams will make every effort to accommodate all students on their first choice, we thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s electives, email Mrs Williams.
Metal Dragons While performing arts classes have been busy rehearsing for the concert season, Culinary students are busy learning seasonal recipes like pumpkin and apple pie. AVID students are continuing to build their organizational and test prep skills just in time for mid year exams.
