Ninth Grade History Classes Immersed in King TutThe 9th Grade History classes (Susbilla/Abdalla/Langpaul) went to the National Geographic Museum in Washington, DC on January 5 and 6 to see the exhibit featuring the 100 year anniversary since the discovery of King Tut. Students walked through the immersive exhibit and got to see a replica of his burial chamber and learn about his childhood and reign as well as his mummification process. | Women's Studies Class Shares Original Children's BooksWomen's Studies students went to the Early Childhood class to share a children's book they created based on Rad American Women A-Z: Rebels, Trailblazers, and Visionaries who Shaped Our History . . . and Our Future! by Kate Schatz. | A Cup of Spartan Begins the Year with FlavorIt's been a successful start for our student run coffee shop, A Cup Of Spartan. The students who work at the coffee shop have been working hard on creating in house events. They introduced new Mocha flavors as well as their specialty hot chocolate drinks. During the month of January, they will offer Peppermint Mochas and Avalanche Hot Chocolate.
The barista staff are learning new job skills. One of the new skills is learning the school hallways while delivering. A Cup Of Spartan prides itself on its delivery service. If you see a barista on a delivery, be sure to say hello and let them know how professional they look in the Cup Of Spartan t-shirt or apron! A Cup Of Spartan will be hosting another fun event in February; stay tuned for more information on their Valentine Groovy Foody event. We would like to thank everyone for their support!
