Corona High School Panther Prowl
A Tradition of Excellence - Since 1896
Greetings Panther Families,
The first quarter ends next Friday, October 13 and you can expect report cards being mailed home on October 24. It is important to understand that these report cards are simply snapshots of your student's progress and aren't necessarily the grades he/she will have at the end of the semester. It is semester grades that get recorded on the transcripts, so it is critical that any student who is not making adequate progress at the quarter make the necessary adjustments to experience success by the end of the semester. Reach out to teachers, counselors, administration, or any other adult on campus who can support your student. If you have not done so, you can create your own account to access and monitor your student's progress via Parent Connect. Please contact Elizabeth Maciel (email@example.com) or Anna Aceves (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
Please note that on Wednesday, October 11 classes will begin at 7:40 am and end at 1:24 pm. This is due to our very first College Kick Off Day (more information in the counseling section below).
Here's your Panther Prowl for October 6, 2017.

Performing Arts - Madrigals/Choir
The Fall Choir Concert will be held on October 12th in our Performing Arts Center, the PAC, starting at 7:00 pm. Pre-sale tickets are only $5 ($8 at the door) and are available from October 4th-11th. All five choirs will be performing music from around the world and each will sing at least one song in a language other than English.
Our very own Madrigals will be singing at the Citizens Business Bank Arena on October 20 for the Ontario Reign's opening weekend to help kick off the 2017-18 AHL season
Four of our very own singers were selected to participate in the Cal State Fullerton Honor Choir last Saturday. Alizza, Edgar, Nichole, and Oscar were chosen as our top vocalists and performed in a 180-person choir from all over Southern California.
Performing Arts - Jazz Ensemble/Red Coat Regiment
The Corona High School Red Coat Regiment will be performing at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum during the halftime show of the USC-Oregon State football game on Saturday, October 7. Look for pictures in our next Panther Prowl. Fight On, Panthers!
NJROTC will be supporting the annual World Kindness Youth Conference held Monday, October 9 at Crossroad Church here in Corona. Thirty of our cadets will be working with some our district's younger students and teaching them proper care and folding of our nation's flag. They will also assist with the set up of the event. As usual, our NJROTC cadets go above and beyond in their service to our community.
Please support Panther Athletics by attending our events and rooting for our student athletes. They love seeing their friends, family, and Panther staff at their competitions...and wear RED!
Boys Soccer tryouts are Monday, October 9th at 7:00 pm in the stadium. Check in for tryouts begin at 6:30 pm. Students must have an athletic packet on file with the Athletics Office prior to trying out. Students who do not have an athletic packet on file will not be allowed to tryout.
Girls Volleyball Dig Pink Game is coming up on Monday, October 9th in our main gym. We will be competing against Norco HS, with the freshman match beginning at 4:00 pm. The annual Dig Pink game is to raise money for breast cancer research. Come and and support this cause.
You can further support the fight against breast cancer by attending Football's Annual Pink Out Game next Friday, October 13 at 7:00 pm in our very own Panther Stadium. We will be hosting the Mustangs of Eleanor Roosevelt HS in our second Big VIII league game. Our team is fresh off a victory over Norte Vista and will play at Norco HS tonight (October 6) in our league opener.
