The Mustang Round Up
May 21, 2023
June 14th will be here before you know it!
Good Evening Mustang Families,
If you haven't felt the subtle panic and/or excitement for the end of the school year, you might want to take out a calendar. Did you realize that we only have three and a half more weeks left of school? Of those weeks, only one is a regular 5-day week! Next week is modified, the following week is only four days because of Memorial Day, and the last week of school is only two and a half days. Needless to say, this final days of the school year are going to come quickly. This is an important thing for our students to remember as they work hard to do well on final assignments and projects. Next week, is a different schedule because of the minimum day and instructional day. Here's next week's schedule:
Monday- Block Schedule; Periods 1,2,3,4
Tuesday- Block Schedule; Periods 5,6,1,2
Wednesday- Block Schedule; Periods 3,4,5,6
Thursday- Minimum Day Schedule- Dismissal is 12:36pm
Friday- No School: SDUSD Non-Instructional Day
Spring Open House
Marshall Middle School is hosting our first Spring Open House in three years this Wednesday from 3:30-5:30pm. Our MMO has lined up food trucks to be on campus from 2:40-6:00pm (see the flyer below). Spring Open House is a chance for parents to meet their student's teacher, see the classroom, and ask any questions about the end of the school year. Some parents take this opportunity to ask teachers about what kind of work or practice students can do over the summer to be ready for next year. This is not the time, however, to conference with the teacher about important student issues or concerns. If parents feel they need a conference, they should connect with the teacher about scheduling a time at a later date. There is no specific schedule or order of classes parents need to follow. If you bring your students or young children, please be sure to supervise them since campus supervision will not be available. Also, be sure to stop by the MPR to see the student artwork on display. Again, classrooms will open at 3:30pm sharp and close at 5:30pm.
We're looking forward to seeing you all this Wednesday!
Josh Way, Ed.D
