Team Information
The Orlando Magic are based in Orlando, Florida, in the U.S.A. The coordinates of their hometown are 48 degrees north, 81 degrees west. The main language spoken there is English. This state is in the Southeast region of the U.S.A.
The Southeast Region
The Southeast consists of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. This region has many auto plants, for companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Honda, and many others. It also has many different physical features, from mountains in Maryland through Georgia, to swamps in Louisiana. This is a very interesting region.
The History of The Team
The Orlando Magic were established in 1985 by Jim Hewitt. There is no special reason for the team name.The public took a vote and the Magic won. There are are no nicknames for the team.
The Mascot
The mascot of the Orlando Magic is a dragon. Its name is Stuff the Magic Dragon. There is no reason for the mascot. The public took a vote, and a dragon won.
Economy- The Arena
The Magic's stadium is Amway Center. Their old stadium was Amway Stadium, but it got demolished. It is called Amway Center because Amway bought the naming rights for $40,000,000 (forty million dollars). Companies advertise for stadiums and change the names of stadiums to get more advertising. With more advertising, companies get more customers, which gets them more money.
